April 2024 Release: Introducing Resource Planner
The April 2024 TaskRay release introduces the Resource Planner, a Premium Edition feature designed to simplify capacity planning by providing flexible views, workload breakdowns, change visualization, and filters to optimize resource utilization, reduce labor, prevent overwork or underuse, and improve project efficiency and employee satisfaction.
Over the last year, several major features have been released with resource management in mind. With the April 2024 release, TaskRay introduces the Resource Planner, designed to simplify capacity planning.
Resource Planner helps companies maximize resources and maintain balanced workloads. Both underutilized and overworked employees can lead to costly turnover, while inadequately staffed projects result in poor outcomes and dissatisfied customers.

- Streamlined capacity planning for improved project efficiency and resource optimization.
- Flexible filters and views for easy resource management, allowing visibility at both the Project and Task level, and by day, week, or month.
- Easily identifiable problem areas with red highlights for any individual capacity over 100 percent.
- Change Log that shows the impact of proposed changes and allows you to make them live at your convenience, enabling visualization of changes before implementation.
- Detailed workload breakdowns for easy reassignment of tasks.
- View upcoming PTO or other scheduled absences for individual resources.
- Role and Resource Attribute filtering for quick searches.

Resource Planner is included in the Premium Edition, building on TaskRay’s existing Resource Management tools. It is designed to help users:
